The Last Orangutans documentary is presented by Volcomunity + Volcom V.Co-Logical in partnership with Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS), and was filmed, edited and directed by Mark Samuels. With five other store openings in 2012, on Saturday 20th of October, Volcom continued to develop its retail network through a new retail store on the high-street of Chamonix, Rue Paccard (N°179) and a partner store in Les 2 Alps a week later on Friday the 26th. Last Thursday we hosted a BBQ event at our Brick Lane offices to celebrate the launch of the Volcom V.Co Logical SOS collection - a capsule collection designed to support the work by the Sumatran Orangutans Society (SOS) by donating 5% of sales of an orangutan print sweater to SOS. The 2012-2013 Volcom VQS season presented by MUSCLE MILK, kicked off it’s Cali portion of the tour on Saturday the 11th at HB Pier in fun, peaky 3 – 5 foot surf. The weather was perfect all day and the waves were firing!! People flocked the beach to watch over 160 competitors battle it out for prizes, $1000+ cash, and valuable points towards the 2013 VQS Champs. After letting the gold slip between her fingers on a few occasions, as she says herself, Maud finally finishes first with an impressing heat score of 16.06 (out of 20) at A Coruna, Galicia, Spain.
