Kenny Powers: Speed Rope
We love Kenny Powers so much over here at Canoe, that we're going to post a KP video a day on our blog for the whole of this week. You can thank us later. In this little snippet, our hero Kenny talks to MMA fighter Urijah Faber about the (non) merits of jumping rope. Have a look: "Please. Like I'ma jump rope like a little school child". Brilliant. www.kswiss.com/tubes...posted by Shaybird on 2010.08.05
Kenny Powers Signs to K-Swiss
If you haven't heard of Kenny Powers, you'll watch the following video and never forget the name. Ever. California Sports Company K-Swiss have just this moment launched a new training shoe called Tubes, and Powers has some pretty powerful ideas for it. More info on the shoe later, but for now, sit back and enjoy this, in short, incredible video. K-Swiss Presents: Southern Hospitality With Billy Reid
OK, so this is it: the final installment of a series of three films directed by Jake Davis for K-Swiss. Clock the previous two here, and here. In the third and final film, GQ/CFDA Best New American Menswear Designer Billy Reid gives an inside look into what makes clothing classic. Billy's southern heritage sensibilities are seen not only in the garments he designs, but his beautiful store in downtown New York. Which I'm absolutely loving - the place just oozes old, Southern charm. As usual, the film is insightful, engaging, and candidly shot. And of course, the music is...posted by Shaybird on 2010.06.11
K-Swiss: Players Know
There’s something artful about the etymology that inspired the new K-Swiss “Players Know” photo retrospective campaign breaking in June 2010. While faces and landscapes might change, the theme manages to create new relevance all on its own. Revisiting archives from its 1980s creative arsenal in early in 2010, K-Swiss creatives discovered a throwback ad from the early-1980s featuring a crew of consummate 1980s tennis players lounging courtside after a game, and all donning their K-Swiss Classics. The tag line read “Players Know,” a sign of the time when the K-Swiss Classic began seriously dominating the world of tennis as...posted by Shaybird on 2010.06.07
K-Swiss Presents: Above The Clouds At Silver Lining Opticians
A little while back I posted the first in a series of three films directed by Jake Davis: Round About Midnight With Josh Peskowitz (see that here). Here's the second installment of the series, which foucses on vintage eyewear purveyor Jordan Silver and an inside look into his store - Silver Lining Opticians - in Soho, New York City. Watch Jordan talk classic style in glasses, shot candidly by Davis in his trademark style, of course. www.k-swiss.com...posted by J-LO on 2010.05.20
