Tonight sees the private view of David Walkers fantastic solo exhibition ‘Brides on Fire’ at the Rook & Raven Gallery. Working in portraiture, painting freehand and using only spray paint, David’s work has been exhibited in the UK and Internationally and aims to challenge preconceptions about fine art and urban art painting within the gallery confines and the public domain. A formidable painter with a radical approach that blurs the boundaries of street and fine art, there is sure to be something here for everyone. An installation of all spray cans used in Davids work will be on show to contextualise his work and reinforce the interesting juxtaposition of a contemporary material with classic portraiture.
The evening begins at 18.30 at the Rook & Raven Gallery, 7-8 Rathbone Place, London.
