Stop & Stare
Last night saw Brit electropop fivesome Fenech-Soler (pronounced Fenek-Soler, not Fenaaaysh-Solaaay as we may or may not have been calling them), make a real mess of London’s Koko. In a proper good way, thankfully.
Emerging from the other end of a hectic festival season with still-crisper-and-tighter-and-whiter jeans than is humanly possible, London’s most iconic venue was treated to a tirade of tunes from the self-titled album, accumulating in silly-big glitter and paper cannons during Annie Mac-fave ‘Stop And Stare’. Word has it that 97-year-old Koko cleaning lady Ethel broke her broom over her head in anger at the sight of the mess. Word also has it that we may have made that up.
Even with what has been a helluva rollercoaster year for singer Ben Duffy, with health issues forcing a cancelled UK tour, it’s ace to see the band come out all guns (and messy cannons) blazing to keep UK electro heads excited.
