Hey, so guess what? It’s official, the relentlessly oppressive recession we’ve been under in the UK is OVER (0.1% economic growth in the last quarter of 2009).

Oh yes.

To celebrate, London-based artist and proud vandal Ronzo has announced the release of his latest sculpture work: ‘Pity Of London’.

Each one of these sculptures consists of a little silver Credit Crunch Monster sitting on a 1-2 metre high plinth. The mischievous little buggers - like the Griffins of old - have been cemented into the streets of London’s financial district as markers. But rather than mark the geographical boundaries of the City, they act as a social marker representing the end of the worst recession in a generation.

‘Pity Of London’ is supposed to serve as a reminder that these credit munchers are still hungry enough to crunch any credit available.

Plus, they look pretty awesome, too.
