Fast becoming one of our favourite blogs in the office, Meaningless T-shirts will either make you wee a little from laughter, or offend you if you happen to design t-shirts for the high street. We chatted to Joe Madden, the brains behind it, who kindly answered a few questions for us... How did Meaningless T-Shirts start and what's it all about? Meaningless T-Shirts is a blog dedicated to documenting and dissecting the worldwide phenomenon of clothing emblazoned with banal and nonsensical slogans. “Chicago Sports 1975”, “Beach Team 202”, that kind of shit. Sometimes I try to find hidden meaning...

Maharishi have released their Summer 2011 look book, showcasing a collection entitled ‘Theatre of War’ which takes inspiration from 1940’s North African desert military. While highlighting military inspired staples along with some more elaborate pieces, the look book also gives a sneak peek at some interesting collaborative projects with heritage boot brand Palladium. Palladium made boots in 1947 for the French Foreign Legion, who fought in the deserts of North Africa, making for a logical partnership between the two brands. While all models in the Maharishi lookbook wear Palladium boots, a unique item in the collection is the ‘Palladium...

So a little while ago I posted about Reed Space opening a little pop-up store in Honolulu, Hawaii. Well, it's now open! Jeff says, "I wanted to bring the concept of Reed Space NYC to Hawaii. We took our infamous chair wall in NYC and reinterpreted it for Hawaii using ONLY chairs as fixturing for the pop-up shop. The shop concentrates on our selection books, magazines, independent publication, music and accessories. It will be open till Aug 8th!" There's also a fantastic little photo exhibition entitled New York State of Mind, comprised of photos that perfectly capture the spirit of...

Never before has a release been as anticipated as the first ever skate movie from Vans. Titled 1966, the film was shot in various countries across the globe featuring sections from the most respected and talented skaters in the European arena today. In addition to their obvious and active roles in the movie, the riders were also instrumental in the making of this project by suggesting ideas, destinations and music - giving the production its own unique stamp. The US, China, Czech Republic, UK, Dubai & Abu Dhabi, Spain and France were all visited and explored as the team...

Palladium presents two of London's hottest models exploring hidden places in east London, as they uncover their thoughts on style and what they'll be wearing this summer. In these exclusive, original videos, Daisy Lowe and Alice Dellal put their boots on and explore an 18th century Georgian house in the heart of Spitalfields and an empty warehouse space in Shoreditch, musing on the music they like, the idols they love and what inspires them. In the films, Daisy and Alice share the importance of authenticity and being original – characteristics that they both embody in the way they dress...

It’s not that I’m against bikes per say. I’ll happily hop on one at the gym from time to time and pedal away as if my life (a.k.a. sneaky slice of chocolate cake) depends on it… But taking a leap from the security of static motion towards the very real task of navigating the city via two wheels, has never appealed. Sure it’s good exercise and clearly an environmentally sound option, but it just seems like too much hassle. Not only does one have to invest in the beastly thing, but the worry of finding somewhere to lock it...

Sheffield-based producer and beatsmith Sam Evans - who also goes by the moniker VANDAL - is a good friend of ours over here at Canoe. An accomplished musician with a proclivity for earth-shattering beats, filthy basslines and glitch wizardry, the man has been tearing up dancefloors the world over - from San Francisco to Shanghai, Moscow, Seoul and back - with his particular brand of beat. This September, Vandal's debut album 'Tonight We Riot' drops, so we decided to give him a bit of a grilling. How would you describe your music to someone who doesn't know? It's a...

Renowned for their innovative collaborations, 55DSL have only gone and done it again… Project 10.55mm gave three international photographers the creative license to thrill. The result? A series of limited edition customized tees, guaranteed to get tongues wagging. Brit-born Gavin Watson’s provocative design reflects his fascination with the iconic 1980s punk subculture; also the subject of his most recent books, ‘RAVING 89’ and ‘Skins and Punks. Next up is sleek imagery straight from the heart of Milan, courtesy of Sean Michael Beolchini; senior editor of ‘PIGMAG’, co-founder of ‘RetroSuperFuture’, and a member of creative collective ‘SM’. And last but...

Following the announcement earlier this year of their upcoming collaboration, Neil Barrett and Palladium have revealed a second colourway which has just been launched. The black leather Barrett designed boot, based on Palladium's classic Pampa Baggy, was first seen as part of his runway show in Milan back in January. The new 'Dust' colourway is produced in a low nap Nubuck leather giving them a velvet like feel. Available at Browns in London. Yet another fly drop from Vans for this season: Vans - Coloured by Crayola. Crayola's seminal crayons are pretty much a staple of every kid's childhood; I remember spending countless hours scrawling some pretty killer works of art myself when I was a little tyke. I'll show them to you someday. If you're lucky. Here's a pretty crazy fact for you: Crayola produces a mind boggling 3 BILLION crayons each year, selling to over 80 countries. Anyway, this year Vans and Crayola get together to introduce the Vans Coloured by Crayola collection. You'll find Vans Classics styles capturing the intrinsically...
